NEW ALBUM

We started tracking our new album this week. We arrived at the Sonic Temple and found our engineer/co-producer, Mike Fraser, hanging skull and crossbones flags all over the place.  Mike's an amazing guy, making this recording really fun and he seems to know what he's doing. After all, he did record these bands called AC/DC, Aerosmith and Metallica, and I guess they're alright…

SXSW IN AUSTIN, TX

In mid-March we're heading to SXSW (South By Southwest) in Austin, Texas. Looks like this may the first of several trips into the US in 2012!  Following our shows with Flogging Molly in New Jersey and Virginia in the fall we signed on with Val Wolfe with The Agency Group’s Los Angeles office for US bookings.

Finally, we are happy to announce Eva George as the house contest winner! She's just as pumped as us and I've heard she's already begun preparations: boarding up the windows, padding the walls with blankets and hiding anything breakable.

Well hello there.

It’s been a while since our last update. So I figured I’d bring you up to speed with what’s been going down in Stanland…

We had such an amazing time on tour with Flogging Molly. What an incredible band, and just a fantastic group of people. We’re also no longer new-comers to the USA, and we can’t thank the fans enough for welcoming us to open the gigs and some of you even knew our tunes! We really hope to get down there again as soon as possible.

So I’ve become a scholar of clearing the cobwebs outta my head after Nova Scotia Music Week every year, and this year was no different. I definitely wasn’t the only one who woke up on their keys with their boots still on. We won the award for “Best Music Video” for “Ship To Shore”! A big thanks goes out to the director, Aram Kouyoumdjian and the rest of the crew and cast. All the extras who came down and acted like complete pros, and looked like they’ve been doing this kind of thing for years.
